Electra is a new monthly series for unconventional music/sound art presented by the collective Concrete Cosmos.
Every third wednesday of the month there will be AV performers, electroacoustic and acoustic musicians/improvisers playing in the new space of Maze, based in Kreuzberg. The first night on 21 october will host:

>Morihide Sawada – Acoustic snare drum set

Since 1980, Sawada, started to play his own music. He studied electrical engineering in university.
However, his first job was as editor of a music magazine that specializes in progressive rock.
After that, he was working as a sound engineer, and he sometimes played drums with different bands.
In 2006, SAWADA played drums as a member of a psychedelic rock band.
Since that time, he sometimes play in Europe.
He started a solo performance called “Snare Drum Solo” since September 2011.
Its music has received strong influence mostly from traditional folk music and minimalism.
Also he already collaborate with many musicians like the collaboration with Emerge at the last Hermetic Chamber festival in september 2015.

>Samin Son / Zustand D. / Rosi Förster / Ching Liu / Unterlala – Electroacoustic improvisation

Quintet composed by electronics(Samin Son), clarinet/electronics(Zustand D), vocals(Rosi Foerster), bassclarinet/clarinet/electronics(Ching Liu) and Cello/elctronics (Unterlala) . The musicians comes from very different background but they are brought together thanks to their improvisational vein. Other special guests will be announced soon!

Timo Dufner performing “Markov Chain” – AV performance
Timo Dufner operates in different areas of electronic audio and visual art. Using the pseudonym PPLC, he works as a VJ in clubs. As timodufner, he appears with audio-visual performances. In the field of electronic music, he operates in different collaborations, among others as Papaloco. In his work, he focuses on the reproduction of computational errors, so-called glitches, and a realtime procession of audio and video. This is achieved by live coding and machine learning algorithms. In addition, videosignals are transformed to audiosignals, and vice versa. His current performance “Markov Chain” was among others presented at the Live Performers Meeting (Rom), RadicalDB festival (Saragossa), Sophia Digital Art festival (Sophia Antipolis), Genius Loci festival (Weimar).
