ZitatThis is a first. With „Transmissions From The Underground Vol. 1“ we're proud to present the first ever cassette tape release on Jahmoni Music which, at the same time, sees us branching out and broaden our musical spectrum as we're setting out to explore the world of classic mixtape culture with this one – a culture which, in parts, surely can be held accountable for the rise of electronic club music throughout the movements early years.
For the release of „Transmissions From The Underground Vol.1“ Jahmoni Music has teamed up with Hamburg's baze.djunkiii, who is known for his activities on the circuit as a DJ, music writer and general ambassador for underground electronic music for nearly 20 years now and who has been digging deep in his vast vinyl collection to come up with two mixes for the first issue of this series, both meant to please and entertain all lovers of the darker, more uptempo side of the electronic spectrum.
With the A-side mix baze.djunkiii goes way beyond what is known as Drum'n'Bass music and brings up an exquisite DarkJungle selection incorporating classic tunes from as early as 1993, a time when the term DarkJungle wasn't even invented for this kind of sound, and effortlessly amalgamates with recent productions to provide a full range overview on 25 (!!!) years of twisted Breakbeat madness.
On the flipside things are picking up even more pace on a straight 4/4 level when baze.djunkiii goes into the Hardcore / Gabba and Frenchcore section of his collection, adding bits and bops of ravey TribeTekno, Raggatek and even a bit of Breakcore to this pretty much uncompromising, yet banging, partly even uplifting and flawlessly mixed selection which takes you deep into the vaults of the electronic underground.
